Just One of Those Days.

I've noticed lately how often people use this expression. You ask how are you? 'Well, it's been one of those days.' They mess something up, or spill coffee on their shirt, or their kids are screaming on the other side of the telephone line, or the washing machine is broken... the list goes on. Sometimes, it's all of the above at one time. Our answer? 'It's just one of those days.' But I heard a song a while ago that changed the way I think about having 'just one of those days'. It's by 33 Miles (WHAT?! YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF THEM!? Shame on you! Redeem yourself and go download their music right now. It's fabulous in every way.) and the chorus says 'It's just one of those days... when everything's right. God is in his heaven and I'm walking in the light. So hallelujah anyway. It's just one of those days, you look at the sky, throw your hands up and you laugh at life. So hallelujah, Lord be praised, it's just one of those days!' I'll put the rest of the lyrics at the bottom. Anyways, now, whenever I use the expression, the rest of that chorus immediately comes into my head. It makes me realize that, no matter how discombobulated and crazy my day may be, or have been, I can't complain. I mean, I've got it pretty good regardless! Just think: God is in his heaven, and he loves us, and he gives us the chance to know him. And it also makes me realize that I have the decision of how to react to my day. Many times, the things that happen just can't be helped. So why not just throw your hands up and laugh? It makes life much more enjoyable, and there would be less grouchy people in the world. So, having 'one of those days'? Just remember, God loves you, and in that fact you can have joy. Love you!

Love,
Sarah

Woke up to the pouring rain
Stumbled out of bed with half a brain
Twenty minutes late for work again
But it's alright, it's alright
No time for coffee, gotta hit the door
Grab a shirt from off the floor
Never noticed it was stained before
But it's alright, it's alright
Oh, but nothing's gonna bring me down
No, not now

(chorus)
It's just one of those days
When everything's right
God is in his heaven and I'm walking in the light
So hallelujah anyway
It's just one of those days
You look at the sky
Throw your hands up and you laugh at life
So hallelujah, Lord be praised
It's just one of those days

The boss calls…yeah, I know I'm late
I had a flat on the interstate
Tell the man that he can wait
Don't get uptight, it's alright
Hold on…there's another call for me
No, I didn't buy a diamond ring
Somebody stole my identity
Hey it's alright, it's alright
Oh, but nothing's gonna lay me low
Cause I know

(chorus)
So come on rain, lightning strike
Just you try to shake my life
You got no power, you got no hold
Cause it is well with my soul

(chorus)
So hallelujah, Lord be praised
It's just one of those days
