How to have a perfect day:
1. Wake up on time, get dressed, get everything together, and get out the door on time. This is big, it doesn't happen often!
2. Get to school and have homeroom first because you get your yearbooks!
3. In the middle of homeroom, have Maggie Fulbright text you and say "AHHHHHH! YOU MADE DRUM MAJOR!!!!" :D
4. Freak out, and tell Katheryn and Kaleigh that are sitting beside you and have them freak out too.
5. Ask to go to the bathroom, but really go to the band room because you have to see the sign for yourself... sure thing!
6. Have a shortened first period because you had homeroom.
7. Get congratulated by pretty much everyone as you walk into the band room, including some of your favorite people(:
8. 'Watch A Video' in Civics... or really sign yearbooks
9. Have no fourth period, just yearbook signing!
10. Leave at 2:00 with your best friend to go to RELAY FOR LIFE! ... in the pouring rain :)
11. On the way to Relay, realize you forgot the money box and luminaries in Mrs. Dellinger's closet and frantically try to reach her for like 10 minutes before she actually answers.
12. Try to set up a tent with your best friend, while neither of you have ever done it before and aren't exactly 'outdoorsey'.
13. Set up for your Relay team to get there and get ready to sell Lemonade, Popcorn, Snowcones, and Tattoos!
14. Have everyone get there to walk for Relay!
15. Go to opening ceremonies, and realize that it's just stopped raining. While there, go across the stage and declare you've been a survivor for FOUR years!
16. At the Survivor ceremony, get a special balloon. At the exact moment that the entire survivor group releases these balloons, have the sun break through the clouds and make a stunning show. Also while releasing the balloons, think about the fact that you are celebrating four years of survivorship, remembering CJ Barnes and Papa, and fighting back for Sarah, Vinny, and Shelby ♥
17. Walk your survivor lap holding the banner with pride. You made it. And you're walking for those that can't right now.
18. Have the best group of people there possible, including your whole family (especially your sister, she works hard), best friends, and 'adopted little sister', Little Sarah. Make some lemonade, sell some popcorn, eat a snow cone. Walk a few laps.
19. Video a very moving torch lighting ceremony to remember Flip Reynolds, a family friend. Cry a lot after this, you miss your best friend & wish she was able to be there. You hate that Vinny is having to go through what he's going through right now. You hate CJ had to give her life. But, you also know it's okay, and that God is in it.
20. Take a lap for CJ and Sarah. Just you and your friends, holding hands, looking at luminaries, and remembering. Find yours, Sarah's, and Nana's luminaries in the word 'hope' on the hill. Also, find the other luminaries around the track, especially the one Emma and Sarah Kanipe made you. You're blessed, girl.
21. Feel so full that you're about to pop with blessings. Count your money around one in the morning and find out you raised over 470 dollars while you were there! That puts your team total OVER ONE THOUSAND! DOUBLE YOUR GOAL! Jump around several times, if you wish.
22. Go lay down around 2:30, wake up at 4:30, then again at 6:00. Pack up, go to closing ceremony, realize that YOU DID IT! You led a Relay team, and made it a huge success at your school, and tell your best friend how thankful you are for her help. The hard work paid off, and you are helping to get rid of cancer once and for all.
23. Don't forget to add several 'Thank you, Jesus" 's into your day, sporadically. And enjoy! Realize how precious life is, how short your time is, and just live. Laugh a little louder, take too many pictures, be a little bit more of a person that you started out as. And most importantly, run towards God with all you've got. That's what really matters!
Love,
Legs♥
